摩西传割礼给你们，（其实不是从摩西起的，乃是从祖先起的）因此你们也要在安息日给人行割礼。
Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.
那时耶稣在殿里教训人，大声说，你们也知道我，也知道我从那里来。我来并不是由于自己，但那差我来的是真的。你们不认识他。
Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
信我的人，就如经上所说，从他复中要流出活水的江河来。
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
耶稣这话是指着信他之人，要受圣灵说的，那时还没有赐下圣灵来，因为耶稣尚未得着荣耀。
(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
有的说，这是基督。但也有的说，基督岂是从加利利出来的吗。
Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
于是众人因着耶稣起了分争。
So there was a division among the people because of him.
差役回到祭司长和法利赛人那里。他们对差役说，你们为什么没有带他来呢。
Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
差役回答说，从来没有像他这样说话的。
The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
法利赛人说，你们也受了迷惑吗。
Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
他们回答说，你也是出于加利利吗。你且去查考，就可知道，加利利没有出过先知。
They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
